Automatic Updates

When BidSlayer starts, and at approximately hourly intervals, BidSlayer checks to see if there are any later releases of itself available.

If BidSlayer finds an update it displays the fillowing pane:

The user may elect to update or not.

Updating

Updating typically takes about a minute, but the time is very much dependant upon the speed of your internet connection and how busy the BidSlayer web site is at the time.

In order to perform an update BidSlayer starts an "updader" program and closes itself down.  Once it has completed its operation the updater program will re-start BidSlayer.

The updater program display looks like this:

Usually this process is very reliable, however the update may not be sucessful for a number of reasons.  If the update process fails then the "old" version of BidSlayer is not overwritten and you may attempt the update again.
